Excavators
Full-size and mini excavators for everything from open-field digs to tight back-yard access where a tracked machine is the only way in.
Niko's Equipment Services
About
A small, owner-operated Hudson Valley crew doing the work that gets job sites moving — and finishing it clean.
Our story
Niko's Equipment Services started the way most of the businesses we work alongside started: with one person, one machine, and a phone that wouldn't stop ringing because the work spoke for itself. We're still owner-operated, still local, and still doing the kind of careful, finish-clean excavation and septic work that keeps the calls coming.
We work residential and commercial across the Hudson Valley — septic system installs and repairs, full-site excavation and grading, land clearing, drainage, and bulk material delivery. When a job needs a roll-off dumpster on top of all that, we bring our own. Fewer trucks, fewer crews, one number to call.
Every project starts the same way. We walk the site with you, look at what's actually there (not what a satellite view shows), and write you a real estimate. No "starting at" gimmicks, no scope creep disguised as discovery. If we say five days, we mean five days. If we hit something unexpected — bedrock, an unmarked line, soil that won't perc — you'll hear about it from us first, with options and a plan to move forward.
What we won't do is take on a job we're not the right fit for. If your project needs a specialist we don't have on the bench, we'll tell you so on the first call and point you to someone we trust. That honesty is most of why we've stayed busy for as long as we have.
Most of our work comes from word-of-mouth: builders, plumbers, surveyors, and homeowners who hired us once and called us again the next time. That's the bar — and the only reputation we're trying to keep.

We bring our own equipment to every job — late-model excavators, dump trucks, compactors and trailers, maintained on a real preventive schedule. That's why we don't cancel for a hydraulic line or a flat tire the morning of your dig, and it's why your project doesn't stall waiting on a rental yard or a sub-contractor's calendar.
It also means we can quote you confidently. We know what each machine costs us to run, so the number on your estimate isn't padded against equipment surprises we're hoping won't happen.
Every job runs under our New York State license and full insurance. When a project needs a Board of Health permit — which most of our septic work does — we pull it, coordinate the inspection, and keep the file. You don't chase paperwork; we do.
Request a QuoteFull-size and mini excavators for everything from open-field digs to tight back-yard access where a tracked machine is the only way in.
Tandem and tri-axle dumps for bulk material hauls, fill removal, and getting topsoil to the jobsite on the day we promised.
Compact loaders for grading, backfill, gravel spreading and finishing work in tight spots a full excavator can't reach.
Our own roll-off truck means the dumpster you ordered is on your driveway when we said it would be — not when somebody else's dispatcher feels like it.
Plate compactors, rollers and finishing tools so disturbed ground gets put back together right — not rough-graded and left to settle.
Our own trailers move our own iron, on our own schedule. No waiting on a third-party hauler when the job needs to start Monday morning.
Strong track record
We've been at this long enough to know what a job site should look like when we leave it. If it's not ready for landscaping, occupancy, or inspection, we're not done.

Schedules slip — we get that. What we don't do is leave you guessing. If something moves, you hear about it from us first, with a plan to make it right.
Our excavators, dumps and compactors get maintained on a real schedule. That's why we don't cancel for a hydraulic line or a flat the morning of your dig.
Topsoil raked, driveway swept, and a walk-through with you before the trucks roll. The job isn't done until it looks done.
You hire us, you get us. The operator on the machine is the same person who quoted the work and who picks up the phone when something needs answering.
Who we work with
Septic and site work is rarely the same job twice. Below are the people who call us most often — and what they tend to need when they do.
Failing septic, drainage problems, new construction, driveway work, lot clearing. We talk like the people we're working for — no contractor jargon, no upsell.
Foundation digs, utility trenching, site prep, septic installs on new builds. We know your schedule depends on ours holding, and we plan accordingly.
Commercial septic, parking-lot regrades, drainage corrections, multi-unit dumpster runs. We work around tenants and document the work for ownership.
Pre-sale septic inspections, repairs needed to close, last-minute scopes when a buyer's inspection turns something up. We move fast when a closing depends on it.
We build from your stamped design, coordinate with the BoH inspector, and flag anything in the field that needs a design revision before we proceed.
Grading, drainage, fill and topsoil work that feeds into the planting plan. We get the dirt right before the planting crew shows up.

Where we work
We're rooted in the Hudson Valley and work across five counties from a single, owner-operated crew. From rural new builds with virgin soil to dense suburban replacements where every neighbor's driveway is on the truck route — same approach, same standard. If you're right on the edge of our coverage area, call us anyway. We'll let you know.
